Ceramics Finished Projects Sem. 2
This is my finished bust. I used different reference photos along with the purple bust already in the classroom. I had a very difficult time with this but I am happy with the way that it turned out.
This is my master artist inspired piece. I did it based off a painting by Georgia O'Keeffe, the broken shell.
I used many different mayco glazes, rosy, java, cotton tail, white, yellow, red, orange and a clear glaze on top.
I wish I used more pink, but I was scared it was going to overpower the piece.
This is the project of putting a handle on a peice.
I really wanted to make a functional mug, and I like the way the handle turned out, but I don't love the glaze.
I used the mayco glazes. I used yellow, Irish luck, green, the light green, rosy, and grapel. It is inspired by a piece I did a long time ago. I think it is okay, but next time I want to do more of a solid glaze.
This is a thrown piece I did in replacement of the lidded box project.
These are mugs that inspired the final glaze for my mug.
Winky was the inspiration for my bust, along with Mrs. Thompson's features.
This is the mug that inspired by mug design.
This is inspired my set of four final project. I wanted to do a natural shape and I started with the same size ball of clay and then formed an egg ring dish.
This is my current artist inspired piece. I was looking on pinterest for inspiration and I was wanting to make a piece inspired by a plant so I found a painting. I used a slab and then made all the leaves and stems. I used grey under glaze along with rosey posey, green, dark green and a clear glaze.
This is the painting it was inspired by. I changed it up so that it would be my own.
This is my Mexican Spirit Animal. I molded a little cat I saw online because I liked the way it looked. Then I looked up a Mexican spirit animal and glazed it the way I wanted. It was inspired by the glaze but changed it the way I wanted. I used orange, yellow, green, pink, purple, blue, and a clear glaze.
This was my inspiration picture for the glaze.
This is the picture I based my piece off of. I liked the way it looked but I changed some of the leaves and the glaze.
This peice is the replacement for the mask. I threw this small cup but I wanted it to be practice for a glaze. I worked really hard on the small lines for the vines. It took me a really long time to finish the glaze and I used a light green and a dark green glaze, along with a clear glaze on the top. I am happy with the way it turned out but I could have worked harder on the actual piece.
I based my glaze job off of these vines. I really liked the way they looked and wanted to try and glaze something similar.
This is my mask project. I did not fire it because I never would have used it. I did want to make it thought. It took me a long time to make all the leaves, and sketch each part. I enjoyed making it. I used low fire white clay. I based it off of a picture I saw on pinterest. I liked making it more of a masquerade mask instead of a full face.
This is the mask I based my piece off of. I changed it because the other leaves were really difficult to re-create.
